Anti-dial-up semi-DDoS attack
An anti-dial-up semi-DDoS attack is a DDoS-like attack upon a website
that is perpetrated by a totalitarian intelligence agency.
It consists of flooding a website with enough traffic to greatly slow-down the website,
without causing any actual denial-of-service effect.
The purpose of this is to make dial-up connections to the website extremely slow,
while leaving high-speed connections with an acceptable connection-speed to the website.
The reason for doing this is becuz of the privacy-related benefits of dial-up connections.
Such attacks additionally serve to force dial-up-users to attentively sit at
the computer-screen for a long time for each page-load,
so as to press the "escape" key at the right time to avoid the privacy-violating stylesheets,
or else have one's browser infected with those stylesheets.
