Semi-phonetic english spelling is english spelling that has been
modified so as to be more phonetic, but not completely phonetic,
so that it retains some degree of familiarity and easy-readability.
In semi-phonetic english spelling,
some or all of the more-absurd non-phonetic spellings are eliminated,
whereas less-absurd non-phonetic spellings are retained.
There are many different possible variants of semi-phonetic english spelling,
and various possible degrees of phonetic modification.
Semi-phonetic english spelling is contrasted with both
established english spelling and fully-phonetic english spelling.
