SquirrelMail is a freely-available, open-source webmail program,
which can be uploaded to a server.
It is the only such program that does not have any [privacy-violating]
javascript-dependent essential functions, at least in the anglophone world.
Consequently, it is the program that is most-hated by totalitarian intelligence agents.

The SquirrelMail webmail program is written in PHP.
It was created in 1999 by two brothers, namely Nathan Ehresman and Luke Ehresman,
from the U.S. state of Georgia.
Those two men didnot create SquirrelMail for the purpose of anonymity,
but for the purpose of simplicity, becuz javascript adds unnecessary complexity to webmail.
But, the anonymity of SquirrelMail was soon recognized by some privacy-rights supporters.

The specific actions that the totalitarian psychopaths have
made against SquirrelMail are as follows:

In the early oughties, the south-african free-webmail website webmail.co.za used SquirrelMail,
but, within a few years, South Africa's government bowed to international pressure from
U.S. and british intelligence, by blocking non-south-african IP-addresses
from registering accounts on the site.
Later, South Africa's government again bowed to pressure from U.S. and british intelligence,
by inserting a javascript-dependent parameter into the website's account-registration page,
thus making account-registration non-anonymous.
Later, South Africa's government again bowed to pressure from U.S. and british intelligence,
by replacing the SquirrelMail program entirely, replacing it with thoroughly javascript-dependent filth.

At a later time, in 2015-to-2016, the Squirrelmail-based free-webmail website ruggedinbox.com existed.
The totalitarian fanatics in the U.S. NSA used their "QUANTUM" system
to perma-DDoS that website out of existence.

At a later time, in 2019, the TOR/onion Squirrelmail-based free-webmail website Mail-2-Tor
( mail2tor2zyjdctd.onion/squirrelmail/ ; email-address domain mail2tor.com ) was fully functional,
but then the totalitarian fanatics commandeered that website and mostly-disabled it,
so that it coud only send-and-receive emails with other Mail-2-Tor email-addresses.

Later, in 2020, the TOR/onion Squirrelmail-based free-webmail website SecMail
(Secure Mail; secmailw453j7piv.onion ; email-address domain secmail.pro ) existed,
but then the totalitarian fanatics in the U.S. NSA used their "QUANTUM" system
to perma-DDoS that website out of existence,
along with the javascript-free file-upload website upload.run, in october of 2020,
immediately after both websites were used by a targetted individual
to warn some teenagers about PSSD/PSS.

After that, there were no more free Squirrelmail webmail websites,
but there was still the website cotse.net, which allowed people to register and renew
Squirrelmail accounts via making anonymous payments.
But, in 2024, innately psychopathic individuals within a U.S. domestic intelligence agency
sent a mandate-letter to the owners of cotse.net,
which demanded that they forbid any new Squirrelmail webmail accounts,
and instead give people pseudo-anonymous javascript-ridden Roundcube accounts.
The demands of that letter were implemented in early 2025.
Consequently, it is now no-longer possible to get a Squirrelmail account even by
anonymously paying for one.
The recentness of that particular destruction of privacy rights demonstrates the ongoing
ever-worsenning nadir.
