It was created originally by [[Netscape]], when they were the biggest internet company. Yet back then it was blank and not very good, but later it advanced quite a bit. And much later, after the DOM model was created, alongside all the CSS stuffs, it blew up and now everything is different, thus any website can be like separate program.

The language's name has nothing to do with Java, it happened that way because when Netscape promoted their Livescript, they reached out to Sun Microsystems, & agreed to replace Live with Java in the language's name.
